2023 Book Club Series: Portrait of a Thief (Act III)

This was the concluding discussion for the ASF Book Club reading of Portrait of a Thief. ASF members have been engaged since the first session in May 2023.

At the final book club, we discussed:

• Earlier predictions and compared them to what the characters (did or didn’t) accomplish by the end
• Our excitement for the Netflix adaptation! We’re curious to see the cast and how they come together on screen
• Enthusiasm for talking with Grace Li herself at the upcoming ASF author event

Highlights:

• Debuting the ASF Book Club Zoom backgrounds!
• Thinking about how to address issues of museums displaying stolen art (ideas like art reparations, returning art to places of origin)
• Laughing together about whether or not we would do an art heist!
