Marketing and Engagement Specialist
King Center on Global Development
Year I started working at Stanford: 2022
What I do at Stanford: I mainly produce digital content for the center’s website and e-mails, as well as physical materials like brochures, flyers and banners, to engage with both internal-to-Stanford as well as external audiences. I also manage the center’s Airtable contact database, and support our Senior Event Planner in event marketing and execution.
Cultures/Communities that are important to me/that I identify with: I'm a Malaysian Chinese—I was born and raised in Malaysia, and I've been in the US from college onwards.
Why ASF is important to me: It's so important for everyone to have a community that we can relate to, and that can understand the little nuances of our background. I think ASF really fills that space for the AAPI community! At every event I've attended, there is a genuinely warm, comforting atmosphere.
Favorite food: My favourite cuisines are Japanese, Chinese, and Malaysian food! Some favourite dishes would be sushi, char kuey teow, nasi lemak with chicken rendang, and udon.
Ask me about: Malaysia, being an international student, learning foreign languages (currently studying French, Japanese and Korean)
